HULL KR coach Justin Morgan believes his "special group of players" deserve credit for overcoming 10 and eight-point deficits to beat Castleford 24-20.

Morgan's men trailed 10-0 after nine minutes and were 20-12 down with just 16 minutes remaining, but fought back to win thanks to Liam Watts' late try.

Asked if the win was all about his side's character, Morgan said: "I agree 100 per cent.

"I felt there were plenty of flaws in our game and we most probably had no right to show a great deal of character after losing 30-0 last weekend.

"I've mentioned a few times that this team is a special group and they showed me why I am so proud of them.

"We are not going to gloss over the way we have played because at times we were poor.

"To be behind by 10 points and eight points in the second half, and claw our way back into the game is a huge testament to the grit and determination they have shown and it's fantastic to get the two points."
